Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Sunday warned those lecturing him over respecting President Uhuru Kenyatta to back off.
Through a tweet, Murkomen said he has been respecting the President through actions and voting him in since 2008.
According to the politician he demonstrated high standard of respect for the President even when his close relatives had dumped him.
“I have seen &heard some nyaffs give me lectures on how to respect HE Kenyatta.Let them know that I have demonstrated my greatest respect for him not by words but actions.I have campaigned & voted for for him 4 TIMES including in 2002 when some of his relatives deserted him.Back off!” Murkomen said on Sunday.
ODM politicians have been urging politicians supporting DP William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid and even the DP himself, to respect the President.
Recently, Murokem told off ODM politicians that DP Ruto is not an employee of the President, thus need for mutual respect.
“To ODM+Sabina Kamanda: Our response is thus: The Deputy President is not an employee of the President. They willingly came together, jointly employed by the people of Kenya. The respect you are demanding for the President is the same respect the President is demanding for his Deputy, ” t Marakwet had said
