Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has this Saturday revealed why he parted ways with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking with Saturday Nation, Kuria said he broke up with the President back in 2018, precisely on 31st December.
According to the law maker, his fallout with the President started after his ‘famous Thika Speech’, where he alleged that Mt.Kenya region was dragging behind in terms of development.
Kuria then put his blame on the President for forgetting where he came from.
” I made the now famous – infamous to some – Thika Speech about the development in Mt Kenya region, or lack thereof.
“As a member of the Budget Committee since 2014, I was aware that Parliament has never rejected any budget proposal from the President and the Treasury,” said Moses Kuria.
He added that he seen there was money in various ministries and agencies to deliver for the people in the region but those who had assigned to do the job by Uhuru had failed.
“But we had a huge problem with work execution. I had knowledge of the workings of ministries, departments and agencies and I knew the problem was not money but inefficiency on the part of those the President had assigned responsibilities.” added Kuria.
The vocal MP went further revealed that people turned against and directed their anger to Jubilee government, a government they had voted in and fully respected it, after they missed on big policies.
“The more the top-heavy policies failed to trickle down to the people, the more the people got more disenchanted and angry with the Jubilee government,” he said.
